Great food and a nice host. Small restaurant and few staff so service was slow.

After reading the reviews, I decided I had to have dinner here. I have visited Crystal River for years but this was my first stop. One thing I learned is to plan ahead. They are normally closed on Sunday and Monday but will open for the occasional holiday. Also it is small location, so call for reservations, you might need them. The food is mostly Italian with a few Cuban dishes thrown in. I would highly recommend ordering a bottle of their Chianti, it pairs well with the food and is inexpensive. I had the hangar steak and portabella ravioli, it was excellent and I would order it again. Two guests with me both had different shrimp dishes that were perfectly cooked. Overall it was an excellent meal for the price. I also found out they will do takeout. So if you are nearby and can't get a reservation or want to hang at your hotel call it in.

Let's get one thing out of the way - the food was very good. I tried a bite of everyone's dish and thought it was all well prepared. Even my picky kids liked it all - no small feat. The service, however, was not as good. The restaurant was busy, admittedly, but even so, it took too long to have our drink order taken and fulfilled. My son's drink didn't come at all; we had to ask for it. I was left without a drink for 10-15 minutes, and when my request for another drink was taken, it was apparently forgotten - I never did get it. Similarly, requests for a take home box had to be followed up on. I felt quite unwelcome. The food is good, but I think I would choose a slower night to visit this restaurant.

Really great. Found it from the one and only Yelp review posted, so thank you. I generally don't like strip malls but this little gem happens to be safely tucked away in between some big non description stores. Norma is lovely! Absolutely lovely. We already can't wait to return. Chianti from a large jug was actually delightful. They offer early bird specials til 5:15, I believe. Norma got our business as we were hungry at 4:00 and no other places were yet open for dinner. Right after we sat down, the place seemed to quickly fill up. Salads have delicious homemade dressings, the garlic bread is tasty and the entrees delicious. We had eggplant parmigiana with ziti and the same fish dish the other reviewer highlighted. Some bites were fishy but other than that, it was delightful. I personally prefer carbs, carbs and more carbs though. Homemade desserts of tiramisu and limoncello cake were five star! She makes these and her husband makes the other desserts on the menu. This week alone, I've dined at "higher" end restaurants that sourced their desserts from places like Sysco. To find a place like this with homemade desserts, deserves five stars alone for that fact! We've already shared this place with many local friends and plan to return very soon. Thank you for existing!

What a find! Tucked away in a shopping plaza behind Claw Daddy's you will find a true Foodies' Delight. The tiny little woman, Norma, is Italian through and through. She makes this light fish called Corvina Alucio with a with only the lightest of delicate breading in a Sherry lemon butter caper sauce with Artichokes and garnished with shrimp. Delicious! The house Cabernet is incredibly drinkable and the ambiance makes you want to speak with an Italian accent. Belisimo! The Chicken Parmigiana is thin, melt in your mouth with a perfect sauce. Oh... My... Head!! They traditionally take September off to go on a culinary exploration. Wow.

This little restaurant is one of the best in Crystal River! All the reviews I have read are at least 2 years old and should be taken down! You will not find a nicer place or nicer people. Everything you order is made right then and not ahead of time.. So your wait time may be a bit longer than you would like but when you receive it you will be very impressed. Small but not crowded. Norma and her husband have to be the nicest people you will ever meet. The grand children sometimes work her and they are so well mannered that you wish your kids would be more like them.. Some day this place will be named after one of them.. You have to have the desert! Norma makes it herself and it's sooo goood!

I have only been to this restaurant once but that was enough. My wife and I both agreed that this was the absolute worst Italian food we have ever eaten. Will never return.

Norma and her huband run this tiny little place in the Kash & Karry shopping center. I have been there numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. This is northern Italian food with a hint of the carribean! The pasta dishes are great but I really enjoy the chicken with black beans with a spicy sauce. Don't remember the name of the dish but it is a house specialty. Their hous wines are good. When my picky brother in law wanted just plain unseasoned bread, Norma went to the grocery store and bought him plain white bread! That made his meal. For me, I'll stick with the house bread that is perfectly seasoned with garlic and cheese. I love this place but it is a bit in the pricey side for this area (16-22 for the meal) but yummers!

We pulled in with our RV on Christmas and crossed our fingers that we'd find some place open and reasonable. The food and service here was great! Very friendly and attentive (all seemed to be family) staff. We started with muscles which were large and meaty. They were out of eggplant so we both ordered delicious vegetarian lasagna. The whole dish seemed to melt in our mouths! The key lime ice cream dessert was enough for two to share and amazing. We plan to go back before we leave!!

We had a coupon to eat here and were pleasantly surprised by the meal. Seating is very tight and reservations are really recommended. Service was extremely slow which is reason for rating. Food alone was a 5

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
